He Apple Vision Pro It will launch in the United States in early 2024, as reported at WWDC 2023. But those in Cupertino are already planning a marketing strategy for the $3,500 device in international markets. And everything indicates that its premiere in other parts of the world will take place at a very slow pace.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, reports that Apple is already discussing which countries will receive the Vision Pro first after the US. Canada and the UK will take the lead and be able to get a “space computer” by the end of 2024. While Asia and Europe followed shortly after.

However, a well-known journalist notes that those led by Tim Cook have not yet made a final decision on this issue. This means that plans are subject to change, most likely depending on how sales of the Apple Vision Pro go in the US market.

If Gurman’s sources are correct, then don’t expect to see the Apple Vision Pro in Europe before late 2024 or early 2025.. Later it will be seen in which countries it will be available initially. In principle, Apple engineers will work on placing the device in France and Germany. Being in the Asia-Pacific region, it was first supposed to be placed in China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Australia.

Apple Vision Pro launch will be a slow march

The same Bloomberg report states that Apple will also be in no rush to launch the Vision Pro in the US.. The company intends to sell the device not only through its online store, but also in 270 Apple Stores scattered across the country. However, promotion and physical sales will initially be limited to major cities – such as New York and Los Angeles – before expanding to other locations.

Another infamous point – the sale of Vision Pro in the Apple Store will be by appointment only. Those on the block plan to show headset in specially equipped sections of stores, where customers can measure the perfect fit of straps and Light Seal padding. In addition, prescription spectacle wearers must present an ophthalmic prescription so that appropriate Zeiss appliqués can be made (provided they are compatible).

Basically, it is expected Apple stores only have a couple of Vision Pro units to offer demos to potential interested parties. This will be due in large part to the production challenges the company is already facing. Let’s not forget that at the beginning of this week it became known that the Cupertinians have drastically reduced the production of the device.

So far, Apple has reserved enough components to make 130,000 to 150,000 Vision Pro units. And it is estimated that it will not reach 400,000 units in 2024, which is far from the million units that one would expect during the first year of its availability. Therefore, it makes sense that the international launch of the space computer will only take place between the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.
