Next-gen MacBook Pro may have pressure-sensitive Touch Bar
An Apple patent hints at an idea that could make anyone want a Mac with a Touch Bar!
Reinventing and updating is a core part of what Apple does with every device. In honor of this, a patent application recently uncovered by those from Cupertino may indicate that this may happen in the future. A new characteristic element of the MacBook Pro will be a 3D touchscreen. It is sensitive to pressure that we can apply with our fingers.
Apple is said to be investigating not only touch-sensitive displays on various devices, but also force- or pressure-sensitive displays. a tactile and useful bar, namely in the reinvigorated Touch Barto perform different functions more quickly and conveniently depending on the job chosen.
force touch
Although little is disclosed in the patents about all possible variations or applications of the idea, this patent “Computing device enclosure containing a display and force sensors”it’s all about the discovery of touchscreens and force touch.
According to the pictures accompanying the patent in question, Apple calls a MacBook monitor a “home screen”. and describes a possible “secondary display”, such as a line or horizontal bar next to the keyboard, just above the top row of keys.
According to a quote from the patent application, “The secondary display may act as an additional or auxiliary input mechanism and, in some embodiments, extend a functionality of the primary input mechanism.”. It is also emphasized that “as the context of user interaction changes to provide context-sensitive input, the secondary screen may change one or more of the items, icons, graphics, or the like displayed on that screen.”
An example that translates all of the above would be: If you start Adobe Illustrator on the home screen where a button may appear on the touch bar before Opens the Pen tool (secondary screen), you can now change the stroke of that brush depending on how hard you press that feature. In this way, the secondary screen will have a prominent role.
About the Touch Bar
it was in 2016 Apple launches first MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, a small touch toolbar located above the keyboard. What is this for? In reality, for many things, macOS users have much more efficient and convenient way to add emojis, access shortcuts, control volume, send, reply or delete an email, and also have endless options with this bar. However, it did not receive users’ approval.
with new patent this bar is expected to further enhance the functions it already performs and thus being able to be more deeply involved in each chosen program while running a business, allowing the most reluctant users to give it a new opportunity. We’ll have to wait for more news on this and see if it can actually be successful.
