OnePlus confirmed its intention to launch its first foldable smartphone earlier this year, and it’s finally officially unveiled. The company introduced in India OnePlus Open, its alternative is Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Honor Magic V2, which has a compact design and lighter weight compared to traditional mobile phones, along with a powerful camera as its advantages.

The new OnePlus Open, in particular, is a foldable “book-style” smartphone that displays the screen in a landscape format. It has a design very similar to the rest of the brand’s smartphones, with a distinctive round camera module and the classic green color that debuted with the OnePlus 11.

It also stands out for its flexible hinge, the same one found on the Oppo Find N, which allows the creases in the screen to be barely noticeable. OnePlus also claims that its mobile phone can withstand 1 million folds; about 100 folds per day for 10 years.

Two screens and new products from Qualcomm

OnePlus Open, by the way, comes with 7.82″ flexible inner panel. It is a Flexi-Fluid AMOLED screen that also has a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2800 nits. For those times when the use of a flexible internal screen is not required, the foldable OnePlus has External panel 6.31 inchesalso with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and brightness up to 2800 nits.

The OnePlus Open features the latest from Qualcomm and a very interesting RAM and storage configuration. Finding the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, as well as with 16 GB of RAM and built-in memory up to 512 GB. And all this, in addition, with a 4800 mAh battery and 67 W fast charging.

In particular, the brand’s first folding model is equipped with three sensors, including a 48-megapixel main one. This is a sensor Sony LYTIA-T808and includes Pixel Stacked technology, which allows you to take photos with greater brightness and more detail, despite the sensor size being relatively smaller than the Sony IMX989.

The main camera is complemented by an ultra-wide-angle sensor with a resolution of 48 megapixels, as well as 64 megapixel telephoto lens. This notably allows you to capture images with 3x optical zoom, as well as 6x hybrid zoom and up to 120x digital zoom.

On the other hand, OnePlus Open has two front cameras. One on the external screen, which has resolution 32 megapixelsand another front one with a resolution of 20 megapixels.

OnePlus is also collaborating with Hasselblad to improve processing and include various features such as portrait mode.
