Apple has finally paid the $50 million it owes to users affected by the “butterfly” bug. After years of fighting and several class-action lawsuits, the company received a payment order a few days ago to compensate buyers of MacBooks that had early versions of the butterfly keyboard.

It all started in 2015 with the release of the MacBook 12″, an ultra-thin laptop with a new keyboard nicknamed “butterfly”, which became a headache for the company. A year later, it released MacBook Pro 13 inch and 15 inch” with a slightly more advanced version. Both keyboards have found themselves on Apple’s wall of disaster in a short time.

The deadline for filing a claim has expired March 6, 2023. And after several weeks of discussion, the amounts that Apple had to pay to the affected users were established in varying degrees.
