Just a few months after announcing the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Samsung has unveiled yet another new foldable smartphone. It’s about Galaxy Z Fold Special Editiona special version of the model introduced by the company in July last year, with a more refined design and more powerful functions. And everything indicates that, unfortunately, it will not be possible to buy it outside the Asian market.
The new special edition Galaxy Z Fold announced in South Korea is actually vitaminized Galaxy Z Fold 6. In fact, it has the same design and format; a folding book type with an internal screen that folds into a vertical position, and an external screen that is the same size as a traditional smartphone.
However, the special edition has a slightly lighter and thinner appearance. Weight 236 grams (3 grams lighter) and Thickness 10.6 mm (1.5mm thinner than Z Fold 6).
The rear trim has also changed slightly. Has kind of striped patternrather than completely flat glass with a frosted finish.
Their screens, by the way, are also a little larger. The new special edition of the Galaxy Z Fold has External panel 6.5 inches compared to 6.3 inches, while the internal screen is now 8 inchesinstead of 7.6 inches. Its frame, however, is not reduced, and the folding one is slightly taller and wider than the standard model.
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has better cameras and more RAM for AI.
Another change that will come with this special edition of the Galaxy Z Fold is the wide-angle camera (main sensor). Go from 50 megapixels to 200 megapixels; quite an interesting leap that promises, in general terms, photographic results with more light and better image quality. The remaining sensors remain untouched: a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens.
Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is of course compatible with Galaxy AIthe company’s artificial intelligence toolkit. But this model can even perform various functions faster and more efficiently, since it has a larger amount of RAM: 16 GB.
Its price? From 2,789,600 won, about 1,800 euros at the exchange rate. It will be available for purchase starting October 25th, although once again it will not be available on the global market. Samsung will launch it in South Korea, and it will likely make its way to other Asian market countries such as China in the future.
