Details about One UI 7 and all the changes this long-awaited update will bring to your Samsung mobile phone keep coming. The beta version has been running for some time now, so users are already testing the system and revealing some very interesting details. Today we know one of those important modifications that will delight many users. It’s not as relevant as the new control panel customization, but it gives you the ability to disable a somewhat controversial feature.

We’re talking about Super HDR, a feature that debuted earlier this year on the Galaxy S24 and is now coming to more expensive devices. Samsung integrated it with the best intentions: to enable images and videos to be played anywhere on the system. take advantage of HDR visualization. Problem? Not everyone is happy about this.

Super HDR is a bit intrusive.and can significantly change the display of images and videos in third-party applications. A good example is Instagram or X (Twitter): when does this feature come into effect increase panel brightness and implements the concept of HDR, which not all users welcome with open arms. In fact, sometimes it doesn’t work at all and clutters the images in a very artificial way.

Samsung already has a solution

Solution? Fine, With One UI 7, Samsung will allow users to disable Super HDR system-wide.. This way, when an HDR image is displayed on the interface, your phone will not change the colors or brightness of the screen: everything will remain the same.

This is something that the company has already allowed in One UI 6.1, but only in the gallery app. The rest of the system and third party applications continued to show this Super HDR when deemed necessary. If something is bothering you, with One UI 7 you can disable it completely and forget about changes in color or brightness when viewing social networks or applications that contain HDR content.

Do you have Super HDR on your Samsung mobile? Unless you have a high-end device, you probably have no idea what we’re talking about. This feature is only available for some Next Generation Galaxy and it is impossible to replicate it in mid-range or premium smartphones of yesteryear. Here is a list of compatible terminals.

  • Galaxy S24
  • Galaxy S24+
  • Galaxy S24 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Flip 6
  • Galaxy Z-fold 6
  • Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition

Only these Samsung phones support Super HDR. and hence they are the only ones where this feature can be disabled when One UI 7 arrives. Well, of course, it is expected that the Galaxy S25 will also integrate this feature and that they will also support deactivating it from the app. settings.
