Samsung wants to combat the rise in e-waste with a new environmental initiative. South Korean giant announced a recycling program for its Galaxywhich will offer a reward to those who want to sell their old mobile phone. If you need the money and don’t plan on buying another terminal, Samsung will pay you a fee depending on the state in which it is located.

According to a press release, Samsung will launch a new program called “Galaxy Easy Compensation”“, which simplifies the process of selling used phones. Unlike traditional trade-in programs, which are often tied to the purchase of new phones, this service allows users to sell their used Galaxy devices at any time, regardless of your intentions to update.

The selling process is simple and is done from the Samsung website. Users only need to visit the Galaxy Easy Compensation page to Get an approximate value of your device based on its model and condition. If they’re happy with the price, they can run the program and arrange for their phone to be sent securely through a courier.

Once shipped, Samsung will thoroughly inspect your mobile phone to determine its condition. The manufacturer has three gradation categories: “Excellent”, “Good” and “Recycling”.. Each level corresponds to a predetermined amount of compensation that will be paid directly to the user.

Galaxy Easy Compensation will pay you compensation for your old Samsung

Samsung comments that Galaxy Easy Compensation has a dual purpose. On the one hand, it encourages a convenient and secure exchange experience for those who want to get value back on their old devices. On the other hand, the program promotes a more sustainable electronics life cyclesince the South Korean company intends to repair and resell some mobile phones.

“We hope this program will increase the long-term value of Galaxy products and contribute to the circular economy,” said Jung Ho-jin, vice president of Samsung Electronics Korea.

Samsung clarified that Galaxy Easy Compensation will initially launch in South Koreaalthough there is an intention to bring it to other countries. In the first phase, the program will support top models including the Galaxy S series – from S20 to S23 – and Z series foldable devices such as Fold3, Fold4, Fold5, Flip3, Flip4, Flip5.

At the moment, the full list of mobile phones has not been disclosed, although it will vary depending on the region. At the moment, the manufacturer offers a “Delivery and Release” program. which offers a discount in exchange for your mobile phone, tablet, smart watch or old home appliance. Unlike Galaxy Easy Compensation, the trade-in program doesn’t give you cash but gives you cash back towards the purchase of another device.
