A few years ago, Elon Musk predicted that in the future, driving would be free. At the moment this is not possible with electric vehicles, but perhaps it is possible with solar cars.

There are already several vehicles on the market that are classified as solar vehicles. But they hardly offer 10 or 12 kilometers of solar autonomy.

light year 0 this is dutch solar car which has already left the prototype stage and will go into production at the end of the year. It will be in the hands of the first buyers in November:

Light year

light year 0 This is the final version of the Lightyear One prototype unveiled in 2019. This new version is made from carbon fiber and the solar panels run all over the top, from one hood to the next, including the roof.

Warranty not less than 69 kilometers of solar autonomy in the best possible sunny conditions. Lightyear tested it in real conditions in Holland, and in the Dutch summer it managed to pass 35 kilometers per day for 2 months, solar powered only. In sunnier countries such as Spain, this figure would be even higher.

This means that with Lightyear 0, most drivers will be able to make their daily commute, pick up kids, shop, etc. for free.

Of course, Lightyear 0 has an alternative energy sourceon cloudy days or on long trips.
