Over there Toyota bZ3 it will have quite significant autonomy. It is the second all-electric car from Toyota, a brand that has pioneered hybrid technology but has been quite reluctant to embrace the electric transition until now.
It will be sold exclusively in China, a market where electric is getting stronger, but also where sedans continue to record quite important numbers – compared to the rest of the world, which has been seduced for years by a passion for SUVs.
The bZ3 is the product of a collaboration between Toyota and BYDO, auto giant often referred to as “the Chinese Tesla”. Meanwhile, Toyota has shared the first official specs of the car: it will measure 4,725mm long x 1,835mm wide x 1,475mm high. The wheelbase is 2,880mm.
The platform is here e-TNGA, which has been further optimized to promote aerodynamics and reduce fuel consumption. Partly for this reason, the bZ3 can count on a robust range of 600 km with a single charge.
The estimate is based on the CLTC cycle, which is usually a little more generous than the homologation standards used in the European Union. There are still many unknowns about the bZ3: we don’t know anything about its motors and batteries, for example.
