The supermarket chain walmart will open in stores a new section entirely dedicated to Netflix. The shelves are filled with, among other things, the platform’s gift cards, but also with various accessories, clothing and Netflix-branded products.
Walmart calls the new sections’The Netflix Hub‘. The corner dedicated to Netflix will be set up in more than 2,400 outlets. In addition to gift cards, customers will find several Netflix products, including merchandising, soundtracks and some sample books from the streaming giant’s flagship TV series and movies. For example, Walmart showed the Stranger Things advent calendar, as well as some sort of puzzle with the image of the demogorgon.
Walmart will also sell all kinds of “binge-watching kits”: boxes of popcorn, candy and Netflix merchandise.

The move, writes The Verge, strengthens Netflix’s presence in stores. The streaming giant is not satisfied with digital, but also wants to penetrate the physical world with its products.
