Apple Watch sales close to being banned in the US
A pantheon issue could overturn the Apple Watch import ban in the United States.
we were talking about something Apple’s patent dispute with health tech company AliveCor. The news came out last summer, and at the end of the year we learned that the case was not over, and now we have news again. Even President Biden has confirmed this.
- Android compatible Apple Watch
- apple watch size
- My Apple Watch won’t charge
- Apple Watch Features
- WhatsApp is the best app for Apple Watch
- How does Apple Watch Cellular work?
- Apple Watch Screen Protectors
A few weeks ago, the United States International Trade Commission sided with AliveCor, admitting that Apple had violated its patented technology. And now President Biden confirmed the decision, after the required 60-day review. In other words, We are facing possible import ban on Apple Watch in the USA.
The Apple Watch would have infringed several patents that could lead to its ban.
We applaud President Biden for supporting the ITC decision and blaming Apple for infringing the patents that underpin our industry-leading EKG technology. This decision goes beyond AliveCor and sends a clear message to innovators that the US will retain patents to create and scale new technologies that benefit consumers.
Will the sale of the Apple Watch really be banned?
The truth is yes. This US International Trade Commission says Apple Watch imports should be blocked Due to infringement of these patents. AliveCor has been battling Apple since 2015 for these patents, which were filed in 2018 with the arrival of the Apple Watch Series 4 and electrocardiogram technology.
All current Apple Watch models violate AliveCor’s patents
However, the International Trade Commission’s decision has been suspended since the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Jurisdiction and Appeals Board declared it. Three of AliveCor’s patents were invalid. This happened last December.
liveCor huh appealed this decisionand ITC’s Apple Watch import ban pending resolution of this objection. Importation of Apple Watch into the United States may be automatically prohibited if eligible for AliveCor.
In this situation, It is likely that Apple will try to reach an agreement with AliveCor to avoid this blocking., something that has already happened in previous cases. But of course the threat to the Apple Watch is real and Apple should be ready for anything.
