American scientists have discovered that the key to a happy marriage is that the spouses have a joint bank account. This was learned from the results of an experiment involving 230 couples.

All study participants were divided into three groups. The first group had to create a joint bank account, the second continued to hold individual accounts, the third had to decide independently whether to create a joint account. The average age of the participants was 28, and the average relationship duration of the couples was 5 years. Also, 10% of couples had children.

For two years, experts observed the couples. It turns out that the best thing for a relationship is to have a joint bank account. Relationships were better in such couples, and the partners argued less about money. In addition, such couples better manage the family budget.

According to scientists, it’s easier for people to leave when keeping separate individual accounts.
