A representative of Rospotrebnadzor told RBC that manufacturers and sellers will be responsible for selling smartphones without RuStore pre-installed.
The device manufacturer must ensure “non-discriminatory use of the on-screen store compared to similar programs from other developers and the cost of updating.” How exactly these requirements will be implemented is still unknown.
One of RBC’s sources said that if the likely scenario is not fulfilled, the scenario could be a warning, a fine, and then a ban on killing without a pre-installed store application mode.
The interviewed experts say that meeting the requirements will be problematic with devices that have ceased to be officially imported into the country. The DNS reported that the Infinix brand already pre-installs RuStore on its smartphones. MegaFon complied with the requirements of Xiaomi and Tecno.
A MegaFon representative says that they are working on options for installing store applications on gadgets imported in parallel. He chose two possible pre-installation options: at the time of purchase by retail employees or via a QR code on a check.
In the DNS recommendation, in order to install RuStore on gadgets of manufacturers who left Russia, a random process is possible that will open the package with the installation of RuStore after import. However, this reduces the attractiveness of the device for the buyer, and we will need to make additional applications to implement the installation. [РБК]
