Raiffeisenbank launched SWIFT transfers in tenge on September 20. The conversion will be carried out at the bank’s internal rate. Customers should check with the receiving bank if they can accept a tenge transfer.
Clients will be able to send transfers in tenge from any non-ruble account. When transferring from a dollar account, there will be a currency conversion, and when transferring from an account in another currency, there will be a double conversion, writes Frank Media.
Currently, individuals cannot open a tenge account in a bank; Credit institutions have accounts in dollars, euros and yuan.
- In August, Raiffeisenbank introduced a fee for incoming dollar transfers. Its amount will be 50% of the transfer amount, but not less than $1,000, the maximum commission is $10,000.
