Guys, sorry about Ellochka the cannibal mode. Over the 13 years I’ve seen and listened to a lot on my iPhone, I’ve blurted out a lot of beautiful words. But these are just a gun And bomb. There are no other words.
I would never have bought them, but chance helped. I am grateful to him, and you are reading these lines.
Haylou S35 wears a skeptical brain. Okay 3500 rubles, you’re in two It’s twice as good to not find other wireless headphones of this quality, with such sound, with active normal noise cancellation, with transparency mode, with an application, with 50 hours of battery life, with excellent fit and comfort and at the same time cool development.
How did I get to the point where I bought the Haylou S35?
I own several large wireless headphones from well-known brands, including AirPods Max. Therefore, I have no need for such. I thought I knew what to expect from these depending on the price – but I was wrong.
A couple of weeks ago, my sister asked what kind of wireless “ears” they bought her. Small budget, no expectations other than full size. It’s useful to see what you can get for 5 thousand rubles on our marketplaces. At the same time, I decided that if I didn’t find anything, I’d better give him something normal for other money.
As a result, up to 5 thousand rubles in general, the choice of wireless headphones is expectedly small. Of all the possible options for the standard, the only option that is at least worth the money is something from JBL. But everything in them will be as simple as possible, not very convenient and functionally bare. Everything else will be like trash from an underground passage; just looking at it will make your eyes bleed.
According to the filter, up to 5 thousand rubles from horror and JBL knocked out one headphones with a kind for a Russian-speaking person named: Xiaomi Haylou S35. They looked like a clone of the classic Sony WI-1000XM – that is, great.
Not enough reviews. Reviews on the Internet are rare, but moderately positive. And the price, to be honest, doesn’t compare with the appearance at all: only 3,500 rubles. A loved one cannot advise something that they have not tried. So I bought them myself, check them out.
I brought them to the office today. There is an owner among us Sony WI-1000XM4 (30 thousand rubles). He listened, was satisfied, and then found out the price and needed a link to purchase IMMEDIATELY. As a result, the link was asked for everyone who put them on and turned on the music.
Haylou S35 is an anomaly, headphones like this should not exist for this money. But they exist.
The equipment of Haylou S35 is nothing, like the box
The box gives a decent external impression. But inside there is typical Chinese squalor. The headphones are left half-folded in a bulky bag on the cheapest swollen plastic backing. Next to them is the same rotten USB-C cable and a short 3.5 mm cord. There is no cover.
It’s hard to expect something else for 3,500 rubles. Now I’m writing and realized that I didn’t even take a photo of the unpacking, because it wasn’t something to look at. The first impression was not very good in the end, but it was very deceptive…
Characteristics of Haylou S35
By price cheaper than 1 (one) AirPods you understand:
▪ 40 mm speakers
▪ 60 hours of battery life
▪ Bluetooth 5.2
▪ proprietary application for iOS and Android
▪ ANC – active noise reduction
▪ transparency mode
▪ 5 microphones
▪ USB-C charging
▪ touch panel for quick pause
▪ soft inserts made of high quality leatherette
▪ folding structures
Even excellent characteristics are not included in the concept of standards for super-budget wireless headphones. The presence of active noise cancellation and huge battery life are especially impressive.
As happens in such cases, the quality of the technical part of all these bells and whistles is completely unbelievable. This is “China”, for that kind of money everything can’t be all right here. Right?
True, but No in the case of Haylou S35.
Design and ergonomics of Haylou S35. Super (period)
Like the well-known Russian fast food, Haylou S35 is very reminiscent of something. They are almost a complete clone of the Sony WI-1000XM, a legend among full-size wireless headphones. Many people do this, but not because of such a ridiculous amount. And it was precisely this factor that made it possible to do it just as well.
Haylou S35 looks great, I would even say chic. Matte plastic. No bright LEDs. Shameless letter logo. The next day, no worse than the same Sony, seriously.
The case is soft and will hold the weight of the headphones. The ear pads are also decent, covered with leatherette. They don’t put pressure on your head, but still provide excellent passive noise insulation. They don’t make my ears sweat indoors – I sat in them for 5 hours at home at a temperature of 25 degrees without understanding. It never overheated. But I wouldn’t study in them.
The controls aren’t perfect, but they’re okay. There are three physical buttons and a touchpad, all on the right earpiece.
Enabling the key is also used to switch tracks. The power button works like this: the power increases, and the spiral with a delay decreases. It would be better if there was a regular “rocker”. The third key is responsible for switching the noise reduction mode. Touching the right earbud with your palm mutes the music and turns on transparency mode.
The headphones feel light in the head, but not the only ones that feel heavy. They sit softly. The ear fits completely, this is a non-over-ear model. The height is classically adjustable, the margin is average, it will be enough for most. The speakers change and adapt to the shape of your head. They can also be placed with the logo facing up for a more comfortable fit around the neck.
The headphones can also be placed inside each other and transported that way. Fixations are not provided when unfolded, this is where they really saved money. This does not affect use in any way, it’s just such a moment.
I absolutely give 4 points for design and ergonomics. But this is without the Swedish price. It definitely gets a 5 plus, because this is NOT the level of budget “ears”.
Sound quality of Haylou S35. It’s almost middle class
Sorry about the face
I wouldn’t call the sound quality anyway, overall, without the price. Noticeable weakness at high frequencies. The vocals are a bit fresh. Small scene. There is an emphasis on bass, quite a lot of it. And the mid frequencies are not enough.
These are outdoor headphones, and on that side everything is fine. There is a drive. Rock, metal, electronics, rap sound fine. They are not suitable for ultra-clear recording quality of an instrument; there are not enough nuances, neither in bass, nor in level, nor in high level.
Now let’s look at the sound of the Haylou S35 in terms of their cost.
They pronounce just awesome. Gorgeous. Powerful, bright, high quality. How can this even be? You listen to them together with the Sony WI-1000XM4, and although I’m frankly better, it’s definitely not 8 times or even twice as good…
The only objective negative is that for some reason the Chinese wrote that the model supports Hi-Res sound. This is nonsense, both physical and technical. There are not even such codecs here – only AAC and SBC.
Haylou S35 active noise reduction and transparency mode. For 3500 rubles…
Branded application Haylou Sound.
Guys, let’s start with the fact that they exist. Considering the price, this is actually great in itself.
But not only do they exist. They also WORKING.
I would rate noise reduction at 3 out of 5 points, where 5 points are the most top-end and modern full-size headphones with ANC from the best brands. They muffle well, but some of the noise still appears. There is still no protection against interference in strong winds.
I rode in them in the Moscow metro on the noisiest line (green). There is a hum, but I don’t want to increase the volume, everything is fine as it is. Under normal conditions, you don’t hear anything, unless you’re drilling something nearby or a car appears nearby.
Considering the price, there is nothing to say here. Just anomalyIt shouldn’t be this way.
It’s good that the transparency is not very good, otherwise it turned out to be some kind of wet fantasy, and not a device. It’s unlikely that you don’t believe me when you read the review.
With the onset of transparency mode, you can hear what is being said next to you, but the positioning of the sound is lame. It will be quick enough to talk to someone, but nothing more. These are not AirPods Pro or Max, unfortunately.
Operating time and other features of Haylou S35
The headband is soft and fits great.
According to the manufacturer, battery life is 60 hours without noise and 40 hours with it.
I bought headphones in the middle of last weeks. I listen to them for 2-3 hours every day today and have never plugged them into an outlet. Now they have about 50% charge left. Therefore, the work time for the personal test is considered realistic, nothing supernatural.
Microphones are normal. My interlocutors even heard me on the subway, although they were forced to speak louder. There were no problems outside as long as there was no strong wind. You can’t hear well with him.
The quality of the application is not high, but it solves its problem well. There is a translation into Russian, it is funny, show it in the screenshots. Through the iOS program, you can update the firmware, change the ANC mode and adjust the sound.
For the latter, there are several ready-made presets, as well as five additional ones. Of these, I chose “Enhanced Acoustics”. So it’s really better, I suggest turning it on right away. The preset is applied not at the program level, but in your own headphones. That is, they continue to sound with the specified parameters if they are reconnected to the devices.
There is multi-point connectivity at its most basic level: you can pair “ears” with two devices, and the sound will be played wherever it sounds first. But it doesn’t always work; a couple of times there was a situation where I had to play tricks with Bluetooth.
As a result, these are the best headphones under 5 thousand rubles
Haylou S35 is sold in three colors: dark blue, white-beige and blue-red. I have the first ones. I’ll take some more light ones to match my fall clothes.
You probably think I’m exaggerating in this review. But that’s not true. I bought the headphones myself, no one paid me for the review, and the brand didn’t give them to me. I don’t even know who sells it here. Technically, this is supposed to be a sub-brand of Xiaomi, but in fact, the devil will break his leg.
The main thing is different. I honestly don’t understand how these headphones are absolutely so cheap. Here the functions, design and sound are worth a thousand and ten rubles, or even more. Maybe they’ll just explode tomorrow? Sorry for such stupidity, I just really can’t wrap my head around it.
Cognitive dissonance, however, does not objectively change anything. Hilow S35 – best wireless super budget headphones from absolutely everything that is sold in Russia. That’s all. Even if they break after six months, they will still be the best. And if they work for 2-3 years, then I don’t even know what to do.
If such headphones can be so cheap and not hide terrible and high “jambs”, then how can you then buy something famous that is 10 times more expensive? My foundations have been undermined, corrected.
