According to data from Digital Economy ANO, the state in Russia allocated 19.2 billion rubles from 2019 to 2023 to support artificial intelligence. These funds are intended to develop the digital economy and finance the Artificial Intelligence aspect.
During this period, 810 grants were allocated, 750 startups received government support and 17 thousand students are currently receiving training in the field of neural networks. The total financial volume of the National Digital Economy program reached 605 billion rubles, confirming that Russia is one of the world leaders in high-speed Internet access.
The report also states that 101 million Russians use digital ecosystems, the number of state online services has increased 10 times, and the number of students in IT specialties is 343 thousand. Currently, all socially important infrastructure facilities are connected to the Internet, and the use of the Unified System of Identification and Authentication (USIA) has increased by 50%.
The national program includes six key areas that have been transformed into federal projects, including regulatory regulation of the digital environment, information infrastructure, personnel training, information security, development of research competencies and digital public administration.
