By the end of 2023, Russian mobile operators and other companies will receive a batch of domestic SIM cards for testing. These SIM cards are designed for use in Internet of Things devices such as smart appliances, industrial equipment and ATMs.
The main manufacturer of these chips is the Mikron factory in Zelenograd, which plans to produce several hundred thousand products in 2024. In addition, it is possible for other companies, including NM-Tech, to participate in production. Although mass production and sales will start in 2024, Russian operators have already started receiving the first batches for testing.
Experts predict that the machine-to-machine SIM card market will grow by approximately 20% in 2024.
