Different generations of Volvo cars were exhibited in the museum, tracing the continuity of production and design, and in particular the first Volvo car, the ÖV4 from 1927, was exhibited. However, it was decided to close the museum in order to improve exhibition conditions.
Some of the exhibits will be presented in a new location called World of Volvo or “Volvo World.” Volvo World is a new technological space that will combine a museum, a conference and concert hall and master classes, the company’s press service assures.
As Autoblog reports, Volvo may be competing in this regard with rival Volkswagen, which also has a similar Autostadt headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany.
The World of Volvo headquarters will be located in the south of Gothenburg. The facility is planned to open in April 2024.
