One of the most anticipated is the new Instant Hotspot feature, which lets you connect your Android tablet or Chromebook to your phone’s hotspot with a single tap.
This feature works on phones running Android 11 and above, but it turned out that it cannot be used on Samsung devices.
If you have an Android tablet or Chromebook that doesn’t have cellular support, you can use your phone’s cellular connection to access the Internet.
Most devices support creating a mobile hotspot, but the connection process can be complicated, especially if you need to enter a password.
Instant Hotspot simplifies this process by allowing you to connect your device to your phone’s hotspot without having to enter a password. This is particularly convenient for users who work on the go.
However, Samsung decided not to support this feature, likely due to the company’s desire to encourage users to purchase devices from its ecosystem.
Note that Samsung already offers the Automatic Hotspot feature in One UI, which allows you to easily connect Samsung tablets to your Samsung phone’s hotspot.
However, without Instant Access Point support, Samsung devices will not be able to instantly connect to access points on devices from other manufacturers.
