“Roskomnadzor restricts access to illegal information on the basis of court decisions declaring prohibited information and decisions of authorized bodies. So far the department has not received such decisions,” said a representative of the RKN.

Previously, the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Anton Gorelkin, said that STALKER 2 “has every chance of being officially banned in Russia,” noting that this is due not only to the fact that “the developers of video games support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

“If after its publication illegal information is discovered in the game content (extremism, justification of terrorism, incitement to ethnic hatred, etc.), the most severe measures will be taken,” the deputy promised.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a first-person shooter developed by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World. The game was announced in 2010, but its release was repeatedly postponed, including due to the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. In 2022, Roskomnadzor blocked the STALKER 2 website because it published an appeal from developers condemning the special operation.
