The regulator lifted the ban on non-resident banks from so-called hostile countries from buying and selling foreign currency in Russia.
“Until now, all non-residents of hostile countries have been prohibited from buying and selling currency, both in rubles and in other foreign currencies,” the Bank of Russia noted, adding that the ban on similar transactions with the ruble remains in place. vigor. .
The Central Bank also canceled the limit on advance payments in favor of non-residents under import contracts. The 30% limit was introduced in April 2022.
On June 30, the Bank of Russia eased another currency restriction: the regulator allowed people to transfer up to $1 million per month abroad. Previously, the transfer threshold was $150,000.
