The decision is due to low sales of existing models – Mix Flip 2 and Civi 5 – which did not meet the company’s expectations.
Sources on Weibo clarify that Xiaomi’s vertical folding smartphone Mix Flip 2 is not performing very well in the market despite its stylish design and competitive price. A similar situation occurred with Civi 5, which could not gain a share in the middle segment.
It is noteworthy that Mix Flip 3 previously appeared in the IMEI database under the codes 2603APX0AC and 2603EPX2DC.
However, it is now said that the project has been stopped. The company may instead focus on the new foldable flagship Xiaomi 17 Fold, which will be released in 2026.
