Aeroflot has reduced the salaries of all management staff, including members of the board of directors, by 30-40%, RBC reported, citing a source. Aeroflot’s senior managers will work under the reduced pay regime until the end of 2022.
A source from the group’s board of directors told RBC about the pay cut for Aeroflot’s management.
According to the source, as of June 1, all top managers of Aeroflot, including members of the board of directors, began to receive 30-40% less salaries. In this salary regime, the airline’s management will work until the end of 2022, the source said.
Aeroflot’s management team earned 1.33 billion rubles in 2021, the company reported. This amount includes salaries and miscellaneous compensation.
In the first half of 2022, Aeroflot’s total traffic fell by 7.4% year-on-year to 17.1 million people. The airline’s domestic flight volume fell more sharply – by 8.5% to 14.7 million people. Aeroflot’s subsidiary, Pobeda Airlines, closed the first half of the year with a 13% drop in traffic.
