Ozon has allowed self-employed sellers to sell their products in most categories. Previously, more than 60% of the categories were closed to them. Freelancers have also been given access to participate in the Premium program of the marketplace.
An Ozon representative told RB.RU about this.
Sellers registered as self-employed will be able to trade on the market in most categories. The exception will be the antiques category, the company said.
“This will not only allow entrepreneurs to start their own Ozon business or generate additional sales, but will also significantly expand the range of unique products for our customers,” said Ozon.
An Ozon representative clarified that ⅔ of the categories were previously closed to freelancers.
In addition, self-employed sellers had the opportunity to participate in the Premium program of the market. This will allow them to receive, among other things, additional support in search results and open access to their own loyalty program “Seller Bonuses”. The commission for participating in the program will be the same for freelancers as for other sellers, Ozon said.
According to Ozon, the market employs more than 6,000 self-employed people. The most popular product categories they sell are home furnishings and décor, adult apparel, and jewelry.
