All devices come to Russia through unofficial channels – mostly little-known companies located in Estonia, Hong Kong, Turkey and some other countries. All these companies are associated with Russian citizens.

For example, it was noted that an electronics and components wholesaler from Tallinn supplied at least $17 million worth of chips to Russia between April 1 and October 31, 2022.

At the same time, a total of $2 billion worth of components were delivered to Russia between February and November 2022, when the sanctions were at their peak.

Reuters also reported that Russia bought products from American companies Texas Instruments, Analog Devices and German Infineon Technologies.
