A large Chinese company is developing an analogue of ChatGPT

A Chinese investment holding company has hired a development team to create its own analogue of the ChatGPT neural network chat bot. It is reported by Reuters, citing their sources. The chatbot is called HunyuanAide and runs on the Hunyuan AI model.

Tencent’s main competitors, Chinese companies Alibaba and Baidu, are already developing a full clone of the popular ChatGPT chatbot.

ChatGPT is banned in China, but Internet users get around the restrictions through special programs. Authorities have also banned companies from providing services that ChatGPT was involved in creating, and the development of products with chatbot-like functionality must be coordinated with the regulator.
