The majority of Russians (66% of women and 73% of men) believe that the issue of gender inequality in Russian society is exaggerated, according to a Kontakt InterSearch Russia study, reviewed by RB.RU.

Most Russians believe that the issue of gender inequality in the country is exaggerated: survey

Only 29% of women and 23% of men believe that this problem is serious enough.

81% of men and 50% of women disagreed that gender influences business success. The rest believe that the impact on success depends on gender.

Among men, there are more than those who believe that career opportunities for women have improved in 2022: 50% responded this way. Only 40% of women agree with this thesis. 2% of women and 6% of men report changes for the worse.

25% of women and 37% of men believe that the gender agenda is losing relevance in times of crisis.

“The reason why the gender agenda is partly taking a backseat is mainly related to the political situation and women’s concern for their men. Obviously, the focus of the gender agenda has shifted towards support, preservation and assistance, and not towards active actions in the gender wars”, says Galina Spasenova, partner at Kontakt InterSearch Russia.

According to her, it is possible that in the near future the employer will be more loyal in the choice of the employees, since now they are a more stable category of workers who are not subject to mobilization.

The survey was conducted in February 2023. 553 leaders attended.
