MindGeek is a highly problematic company. He owns some of the most visited sites on the Internet, but at the same time is constantly criticized for the presence of illegal content on them, which the company is fighting in every possible way.

ECP said in a press release that the company plans to focus on “investing in MindGeek as the Internet leader in the fight against illegal online content”, including a “leading role in the fight against illegal content across the Internet.”

As a reminder, in 2020 Visa and Mastercard stopped serving Pornhub, prompting MindGeek to remove most videos from the platform and create a mandatory age verification system for gamers. In those days, the Internet simply “exploded” because at that time the content on the site was multiplied.
