But experts say it will take two years for Bard to shake the undisputed leadership of ChatGPT, as Bard is initially built on a less advanced AI model than its rival. ChatGPT is currently flourishing by talking to users of the less popular search engine Microsoft Bing, which accounted for only 2.98% of search traffic in February 2023.

At this stage, LaMDA, which Bard is working on, is inferior in functionality to GPT-4, which forms the basis of ChatGPT.

Even in unstable startup positions, experts predict Bard has more opportunities to become the market leader in AI-powered chatbots. Grigory Revenko, director of the R-Vision Center of Expertise, predicts that once Google integrates Bard into its search engine with a much wider audience, it will advance in development and conquer the market.
