Alexander Kochkin, Deputy Director General of Tekhmash Concern, said that mass production of a new Russian high-power rocket, the Armor-Piercer, has begun.
Designed for aircraft and other equipment equipped with launchers for unguided air missiles – for example, Su-25 or Mi-8. The new development will complete the S-8 family of shells. However, the Armored Piercing’s warhead is five to six times more powerful than previous models, allowing the ammunition to break through significant obstacles and crash into fortifications.
According to Kochkin, the first orders for the rocket have already been received. The developer emphasizes that it will be possible to see its application in practice in the NWO region as early as 2023.
