Samsung Display, the display division of the South Korean company, has unveiled a new flexible panel that can rotate 360 degrees which is also committed to a completely different hinge mechanism than the one the firm includes on its foldable Galaxy smartphones.
New flexible panel dubbed “Flex In & Out” by Samsung able to bend inwardas the Galaxy Z Fold 4 already does; or out, such as Huawei Mate Xs 2. Thus, it allows you to choose the most convenient smartphone design based on the needs of the person. For example, if the user is not going to use the device, they can fold it up and – in a sense – completely hide their screen. If instead you prefer to use a phone with a format more similar to that of a conventional mobile phone, you only need to rotate the panel 360 degrees until it is split in two and use one of the two sides of the screen.
screen also includes hinge with water drop mechanism, which offers various advantages over the hinge Samsung uses on its current models. First, it makes the screen creases that appear when the panel is fully open less pronounced. On the other hand, as stated edgemakes the screen less stressful, so we assume it will be more resistant
Will this flexible display come to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5?
As of now, Samsung Display has not provided details on the availability of this new format. Nevertheless, It wouldn’t be strange to see a similar screen design on the Galaxy Z Fold 5. In fact, the first rumors about this future folding indicate that the company will bet on a “waterfall” hinge, which is the exact same mechanism that includes the “Flex In & Out” panel.
In any case, it’s up to Samsung to change its regular hinge to a teardrop hinge, so named because it forces the panel to fold into a teardrop shape. That doesn’t mean yes or yes, it includes a 360-degree flexible screen.
In fact, other smartphones like the Oppo Find N2 have the same hinge and panel that only folds inwards. Thus, Samsung can bet on this new mechanism simply to capitalize on the various advantages of the Z Fold 5, such as minor pronunciation of the word wrinkle or more wrinkle resistance.
