Activision Blizzard named the recently released RPG Diablo IV the best-selling game in the company’s history. In five days from the start of sales, the game brought the company $666 million, a record figure for the studio.
Since its release, Diablo IV players have spent more than 276 million hours (more than 30,000 years) online and have killed 276 billion creatures in the game, Blizzard said.
Diablo IV has been one of the most anticipated RPG releases in recent years. Due to the harassment scandal, Blizzard fired the leaders of the Diablo IV development team. Shortly after, it was announced that the release date for Diablo IV and other studio projects had been postponed indefinitely.
Diablo IV received Russian localization and Russian voice acting, but in Russia it is impossible to buy the game through official channels. Blizzard prohibits the registration of new accounts with Russian phone numbers on its Battle.net network.
