AllTrails was ranked #1 by Apple for iPhone, and Imprint: Learn Visually was named one of the top apps on Google Play. Honkai: Star Rail won the title of Game of the Year on both platforms. Surprisingly, Apple has marked a departure from previous years’ picks by shifting its focus from new and innovative apps to established apps like Duolingo and Flighty.
Despite ChatGPT’s record growth (100 million users in record time), none of the tech giants took notice of its AI application.
This decision raises questions because ChatGPT and other AI applications generate significant revenue. Even though generative AI has been named “Trend of the Year” by Apple, it remains an odd decision to exclude AI apps from the best list.
Fortunately, ChatGPT managed to earn the title of “User Choice App of the Year” from Google.
