Russian Railways said the option is currently available only on some routes. In this case, the photos reflect the type of carriage, but are not photos of specific carriages. In the near future, the company will add photos of all its trains.
Now all the photographs are signed, for example, “Interior of the compartment” or “Dining car”. Buyers will also be able to see what the carriage corridor and the bathroom look like.
Russian Railways planned to add this option several years ago. The then Deputy General Director of FPK (a subsidiary of Russian Railways), Marina Zhegulina, announced plans to introduce such a feature.
At the end of June, Russian Railways introduced a “waiting list”: customers can queue up to buy tickets if other passengers, for example, refuse to travel.
