According to Anikin, Yandex completed the transition to the new system about six months ago. If the project receives approval from the capital’s transport ministry, the first 100 unmanned vehicles that will operate in a limited number of regions will appear in Moscow.
If desired, the passenger can refuse the journey if an autonomous vehicle is allocated to him.
The cost of the trip will remain the same, and according to the company management, the introduction of robotaxi will help reduce price increases and increase road safety.
The vehicle will still have a test driver on board, ready to take control in case of emergency.
