The latest version of the station consists of software and sample modules. Components will be produced by a local partner at the request of operators and customers from friendly countries.
The presented equipment complies with the current international standards of the 3GPP mobile phone specification consortium and the principles of the OpenRAN open radio access network concept. Thanks to the latter, the development will be an open platform, the components of which can be created by third-party Russian developers.
“The Skoltech solution was developed in full compliance with 3GPP and OpenRAN international standards. The switch supports 5G technology services: offline and offline modes, eMBB, network slicing, VoNR (voice calls on 5G networks), ViNR (video calls on 5G networks), etc. In terms of technical characteristics, the Skoltech base station is comparable to modern samples of foreign equipment, and the highest speed of mobile Internet reached 1.4 gigabits per second. The Skoltech solution supports the 4.4-4.99 GHz band (n79). The development has export potential due to the modular design of the base station and the support of modern functionality. NTI Foundation said in a statement that several friendly countries showed interest in the project.
